The Zero desk at the “Mole Vanvitelliana” in Ancona
On occasion of the “La storia d’Italia per oggetti” event (“History of Italy through objects”), the Marche Region, Servizio Artigianato and La Poliarte, a Body for in-depth training and research that has been in operation in Ancona since 1972, organized an anthological show about the history of Italy through objects, with the aim of offering a thought-out overview of the region areas through illustrations and pictures, videos, video spots, hand-made and industrial products and environment and monument representations that have become emblematic within a period of a century and a half, symbols of integration, economic development and social changes.
The focus is on the period 1861-1961 since it is representative of the ante litteram design, the protodesign, less famous than the subsequent one, marked by ADI’s activities and by its Golden Compass Award, which systematically selects the best regional masters.
At this event, Della Rovere displays its Zero desk, designed by Karim Rashid, personalized with the Italian flag on occasion of the celebrations for 150 years of Italian unity.
